Beware of the Frankenstein Rabbit!

Monday, January 7, 2008

No, I am not going to cook him! Since January is a first for everything so far, I decided to take a stab at making my very first stuffed animal.

Ok, so he's not perfect. And that is why I am calling him Frankenstein Jack. I started off good with the body, but then I had trouble with his head. Had to do his eyes twice, his nose twice, and his whiskers twice, due to a lack of evenness.
Then I added his ears, sewn from the inside, which seemed to work okay, but then when I tried to add his arms, they turned out more like walrus arms then rabbit ones.

Because he was a bit uneven and seemed like he was missing something, I added some thumper feet for him. I then filled him with raw buckwheat for the bean bag effect, and did the frankenstein sew job on his head to his body, then the feet and fuzzy white tail to his body.

I was trying to mimic this cute French postcard I got my sweetie for Easter back in 2003, but it didn't quite turn out that way. But hey! at least I tried. They always say that the first time is always special..and he is! I will give him to Patrick for his birthday this week.
