Just a reminder to help reduce our consumption of mall-bought items and buy handmade for Christmas (and in general)
For example, www.Etsy.com is a great site where over 65,000 sellers hand make anything from barrettes (like me at www.jeynreyn.etsy.com!) to strange and interesting items like 'crocheted bacon'. For those price conscious during the holiday (also like me), the prices are really reasonable, with most items from $1-20 and up, and the items are super cute and unique, and something you probably cannot find in a store.
Best thing is that you are helping a home-run business and not a huge conglomerate like Gap, Wal-Mart, or the stores in the mall. Remember that many handmade items are made using recycled materials, which helps the environment, and reduces the trash we create. It is a win-win-win situation, so if you want to take part, click on the "I took the handmade pledge" pic to the left and submit your info. Thanks for listening!! Go MotherEarth!!
